Look at one of Jesus' Parables with me, I want to put you in the Parable instead of Peter. Don't be afraid, just see it through. Time to use your imagination!

You just stepped out of the boat and your out walking on the water with Jesus. Just like we're supposed to be doing in the practice of our faith with him, when all of a sudden, all of what you believed in, with your whole heart ... is sinking, and all your confidence with it, all while you were trusting in him!

Better get back in the boat with Peter and the rest of us. Guess what you just did!

OK, here is something that may sound out of place, but is true!

"Only now do you understand the power of the Dark side young Jedi!" Might be an appropriate phrase for what your going through.(You have seen Star Wars Haven't you?)

I feel for the heart of any one who sinks upon the water, I have been in the water so many times myself ... but at least now, with the help of the Holy Spirit, we know what Jesus meant by his Parable of this event. He wasn't talking about some physical event where you perform miracles. He was teaching us what we were going to go through in our walk with him and how to know what happened when things went wrong.

Compare yourself with Peters circumstance, something unexpected happens right in the middle of what you thought was an incredible spiritual walk with Him and I'll bet you were thinking the same thing Peter was. "I'm walking on the water! I'm living out the faith taught to me in the Bible!" Then your mind drifted off about other events and your spiritual life, is sinking fast!

Peter didn't learn from it though, remember one of the next times he stepped forward. Just after he said he would never deny him and he thought he was at his best, he denied Jesus 3 times.

So our faith is our walk on the water with him, for the water he was speaking of was your Life with HIM! Not just a single event, but your entire life is a walk on the water.

The sooner we take the towel and dry off the tears, the sooner we can get back out of the boat and back onto the water with him. Because it’s from walking on the water with him, that the church lives, grows and prospers.

Here comes Jesus hand to you, just as he reached out to Peter and lifted him out of the water; What are you going to do?

He wants to hold onto it for awhile, while he strolls with you on the water. Don't worry, you'll get your legs back, as soon as you regain your focus on your life with Christ.-John Thomas
